Winning design for regional performing arts centre and conservatorium
Woolacotts provided the engineering design for the winning submission for the new Gosford Regional Performing Arts Centre and Conservatorium.
The building, designed by architects Perumal Pedavoli, was part of a design competition run by the Central Coast Regional Development Corporation.
The design was chosen by an independent panel for its innovation, energy efficiency, design and planning.
Woolacotts supported Perumal Pedavoli with the structural, civil and hydraulic design for the project.
The concept includes a multipurpose auditorium seating up to 1,000 people, a studio accommodating 200 people, and a foyer space suitable for exhibitions.
Individual teaching spaces, library facilities, rehearsal rooms and a 150-seat performance space are all part of the concept design for the conservatorium.
The Hon Chris Hartcher, Minister for Resources & Energy and the Minister for the Central Coast, said they will look to secure $36 million in federal funding to construct both buildings.
