The 350 bed Eastern Goldfields prison is being delivered as a full service public private partnership (PPP) project.
This multi-category facility will house men and women in minimum, medium, maximum and open security accommodation.
The facility will replace the existing prison which was built in the 1980s.
Challenges
The project faces several challenges, including the close proximity to an airport runway, as well as extreme environmental conditions.
Unique attributes
The prison includes special design considerations for green star initiatives and Indigenous issues.
Our role
Woolacotts was engaged as principal technical engineering advisor to the WA Department of Treasury.
This project demonstrates our ability to develop well defined financial and service specifications that are fit for purpose.
